Bernard Taylor will help pull a 30,000 pound fire truck at the 2026 Connections Fire Truck Pull on Saturday, September 5, at Gardens Park in Palm Beach Gardens. The event raises funds and awareness for Connections, a Palm Beach County nonprofit school for students with autism, a cause close to Taylor's heart as the father of a son with autism.

Bernard Taylor is being honored with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue's 2025 Lifesaving Award of the Year for his role in saving a young equestrian who was thrown from her horse in Jupiter Farms. The girl, who suffered a traumatic brain injury and spent weeks in a coma, has made a remarkable recovery and is back competing on horseback. Taylor will be recognized at the department's awards ceremony on August 28.

In 2026, he ran for Congress to fight for the people our elected congressional representatives are ignoring. Bernard was inspired to run after seeing how disparities in access to affordable healthcare resulted in the death of a diabetic patient who had to ration insulin due to the high cost. That loss was a stark reminder of the real human cost of systemic inequities, and it still drives his work in the community today.
